In both of the above projects I ( a physics teacher) used Macromedia Flash to create simulations of abstract processes. At an early stage in my teaching career I recognised that some students had difficulty in visualising physical processes that were either very difficult to create in the laboratory or when models were built, the models operated to quickly and the student was not able to visualise the process as a series of steps. The students thus had a problem transferring theory to practice. An animated web site overcomes the above learning obstacles, in that they allow the students to work independently at their own pace, and allows students to view various processes as a series of steps.
