Summary (Max. 200 words in English, German, Spanish, French or Italian)
This is a lively, creative, internet magazine which has come about as the result of work done by a three way partnership between schools in the UK, Poland and Malta. The object is for the children aged 5-11 to explore the issues surrounding carbon emissions and the protection of the environment with their European peers in a dynamic and highly relevant way using ICT to communicate their ideas and to extend their learning. The starting point was to follow the build of the new Liverpool Sailing club on the banks of the River Mersey in Liverpool, England. This is an iconic build in terms of the high levels of environmentally friendly technology used. The project blossomed with puils in all three schools finding a voice, discussing critical issues with environment experts and politicians..Additionally a blog has been created to further encourage discussion on the world wide web.
Summary of benefits and transferability (in English, German, Spanish, French or Italian)
Our pupils-
have had the opportunity to explore issues critical to their future and to do so through the eyes of their European peers.
They have been able to express those views through the use of ICT to a wide audience. They have used digital cameras, recording equipment, powerpoint, e mail and blogging, they have learned how to send attachments and to use the internet safely and effectively.
They have used the medium of the magazine to record speeches to and interviews with, key figures including politicians at local and state level.
In the spirit of European understanding and co-operation and through the use of ICT as a powerful means of communication, the three schools have worked together to make a tangible difference.
The schools have viewed, discussed and celebrated their achievements and look to the future

The teachers

have extended their own ICT skills and extended them through the project in ways which will support teaching and learning in the class but also in personal terms.
New friendships developed over the course of the project have led to plans Io exchange and visit each others schools.

The use of ICT has resulted in a highly successful and very enjoyable project for all concerned. The children are very proud of what they have achieved.
