This activity was born with a clear aim : to introduce our students into some of the real applications upon which they can convey their knowledge on Industrial Technology . Without the mathematics, physics, geometry ,....plenty of the knowledge to be taught as final objectives of the subject would be cut down. Yet, sometimes we tend to forget that in Nature nothing is to be invented and the Great Book of Observation and Experimentation will provide us with a high amount of wisdom. Studying the materials, their internal structure, their intrinsic properties as well as those which could be acquired after industrial processes,... all this is a source of wisdom from which we cannot refuse to drink... La present unitat didàctica neix amb un clar objectiu. Donar a conèixer als nostres alumnes algunes de les aplicacions reals on podran traslladar part del saber que reben des de la Matèria de Tecnologia Industrial al Batxillerat. Sense les matemàtiques, la física, la geometria,... molts dels coneixements que haurem d’impartir i que formen part dels objectius terminals de la matèria, quedarien escapçats. Però moltes vegades oblidem que a la natura, res està per inventar i que el gran llibre de l’observació i l’experimentació ens aportarà grans dosis de saber. El coneixement del materials, la seva estructura interna, les seves propietats intrínseques, les que els podrem aportar mitjançant processos industrials, etc., és una font del saber de la qual no ens podem negar a beure.

The reason why I chose Gaudí, obvious : the great Master, the Observer , the Synthesizer, the Craftsman or artisan , the Scientist ... all in all, the greatest Architect in history. High-sounding words, aren’t they ?Well, then tell me how you would call the person who, at last, found out the way to solve the historical deficiencies of the Architecture thought of only as compressive ? A lot of his solutions came from direct observation, of his knowledge of materials, of their manipulation . And if his work has been qualified as brilliant, that of a genius,why not choose it as conductive thread when explaining ? As the knowledge of the materials is an essential section of the objectives of our subject... El perquè de la tria d’en Gaudi, evident: el gran Mestre, l’Observador, el Sintetitzador, l’Artesà, el Científic... en definitiva, el més gran Arquitecte de la Historia. Altisonants les paraules oi? Doncs com anomenaríeu la persona que per fi va descobrir la manera de solucionar les deficiències històriques de l’arquitectura pensada només com a compressiva? – Ja es sabeu, qüestió d’esforços. Moltes de les seves solucions vàrem venir de l’observació, del coneixement dels materials, de la manipulació que amb ells exercia. I si la seva obra és catalogada de Genial, per què no triar-lo com element aglutinador a l’hora d’explicar, que el coneixement dels materials es per mèrit propi una part fonamental dels Objectius de la Nostra Matèria.
