About the eLearning Awards 2006
The eLearning Awards is an annual event, now in its sixth year, which identifies and rewards excellent practice in using ICT for learning across Europe.
The Awards have a particular focus on teachers and schools. Whether through the dedication of an individual teacher, or through successful partnerships with others, ICT is being used to excellent effect in many schools throughout Europe.
As schools do not have the resources or the marketing demands of government or commercial enterprises, much of the good work is known only within a school, or even within one classroom.
The eLearning Awards seek to identify and highlight the best examples, so that the methodology and results can be shared with a wider audience, inspiring others and encouraging greater collaboration between schools in Europe.
Projects will be evaluated by educational experts from all over Europe. Winners receive a cash prize for their school and an invitation to a prize-giving ceremony in Belgium, which will be held in early December 2006.
The eLearning Awards are organised by European Schoolnet, with the support of Young Digital Planet, Intel, Promethean, Oracle and Michael.
